How would you define a "core" gamer?

I'm writing about the Kinect for my school newspaper, and was asked to define what a "core" gamer is in part of it. How would you define a core gamer? As succinctly as possible, please. It's for a newspaper article, so it has to be just one or two sentences...How would you define a "core" gamer?I'm not so sure, but as far as i understand it, Core Gamers are like the real gamers, the ones who actually game, as it would be said. And it does not necessarily mean the grinders in the games or the ones who play the game 24x7. It's basically the gamers who understand games and know how the games are meant to be played. So for example, when you take a strategy game, they aren't the ones who just do what the tutorials say, but in fact, exploit the game in as many ways as possible. Core gamers are also the ones who form the main part of the customers of games, unlike people who just buy a game or leisure.

P.S. they are the ones who buy the additional content or in-game purchasable content, like most add-ons or expansion packs are bought only by core gamers, casual gamers hardly buy thoseHow would you define a "core" gamer?hardcore
