I can't afford a new iMac and i want to build my own desktop computer. Can someone give some guidance, Intel or AMD, fast processor or fast graphics card. I am using Adobe CS4 extended with a wacom tablet and love to digitally paint.|||If you want fast processor and graphics card I would look at the AMD Phemon processors and the nvidia 200 level graphics cards.|||Get an upper range CPU and a mid-range Videocard and you'll be good :)
The CPU is going to give you more bang for your buck with photoshop, but CS4 is capable of using your GPU.
Intel or AMD isn't going to give you much of a difference.
