How do you know when you've crossed the line between casual and hardcore gamer?

That depends on your definition of a casual and of a hardcore gamer. I see a casual gamer as someone who plays games that are easy to just pick up and play. Games that don't require a ton of practice or skill - family type games. On the other hand I think of a hardcore gamer as someone who plays at harder difficulties not just because they enjoy it more, but because they want to improve their game and challenge themselves.

Either one can have a wide variety of games they play, but the casual gamers wont take them so seriously, they might play to take up time and just relax. While the hardcore gamers might.. "play with a passion," putting more effort and emotion (whether that be rage, joy) into their gameplay. How do you know when you've crossed the line between casual and hardcore gamer? Most major differences are-

4. He is surely not the person who buys the latest titles.
