Would it be wrong to buy my gamer boyfriend a game I would like to play?

My boyfriend plays COD and MVC amoung some other fighting/war games but I want to buy him Grand Theft Auto as a gift because i like to play it. I'm not sure if he likes that one or not so is it okay to buy it for him and will he appreciate that I'm just trying to buy a game that I can get into as well.|||Who doesn't like GTA|||That is so wrong.
