Which Next-Gen gaming console appeals to you, the casual gamer, and why?

I'm currently doing a 10 page report for my college on the Next-Gen gaming consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, %26amp; Playstation 3) and which one is best suited for the casual gamer. I would like to see what the community here at yahoo answers thinks about which console would be most suited for the casual gamer of 2008. Please, express your opinion and reasonings behind it and also tell me what you think of the other two consoles and where they stand.Which Next-Gen gaming console appeals to you, the casual gamer, and why?I happen to have the Xbox 360 because it offers a better selection of games to choose from than the Playstation 3 mainly. The differences in graphics between those two systems is not that noticeable, though the PS3 is supposed to be a bit superior in graphics. There has been a lot of hype about it making use of blue ray, too. I didn't buy a gaming console to watch movies on though myself, so that didn't really matter much to me. I have regarded the Nintendo system as being aimed at kids primarily. The Wii is known to have the lesser graphics. How good do graphics need to be when it is a cartoon game you play on your console anyway? I like the way new and experimental types of controls are being used with the Wii though. There is nothing wrong with a lower price in a console either. That alone (price) is probably what would define a 'casual' gamer I would think. But I am a little crazy, and throw my money around some, and I like games with good graphics. It seems that Xbox 360 favors the first-person shooter type gamer, the PS3 favors role-playing gamers, and the Wii the cartoonish games. So, the answer to your question might depend on the type of games the 'casual' gamer likes to play. The PS3 may proof itself eventually to be the better system of the three, but I believe it still has a ways to go. The whole thing about the Xbox 360 overheating has been a real bummer. I can't believe they didn't test the thing any better than they did before putting it up for sell. the wii has its motions controllers,free online,and some good channels like the Internet mii and check mii out but threes not alot of good games

Well i myself is a casual gamer and i currently own two next gen gaming consoles , the first which i have had over a year is the xbox 360.



the main reason for purchase of this console was the online play and graphics . this would be beast suited to the sub-genre of casual gamer who likes to relax by himself on a game.



the next console which i purchased was the the Nintendo wii, i have only had one for 4 weeks but i can see why the casual gamer would prefer one of these because if you have friends over or just want to play by yourself it is hours of fun and all ways surprising.
