What is the point of Xbox 360 gamer achievment points?

What is the benefit of collecting points? can you spend them on the downloadable content? ie moviesWhat is the point of Xbox 360 gamer achievment points?You can not spend the points collected and for a casual gamer there's probably little point to it. But as mentioned aboved it gives you something to aim for when playing games especially if you want to be better than friends or other users. If you've completed a game playing normally you can replay it trying to achieve the objectives that you may have missed playing the first time round.



Each game has objectives which can be viewed via the dashboard when the games loaded. When viewed they will display a description of what you need to do and how many points you'd get.



The score is viewable by anyone that views your live profile so if you're a score junkie/whore then they're perfect.



I don't play much online but if I did I'd probably steer a way from players that has a huge gaming score for fear of humiliation.

no nont really there just something to shot for. Like if u beat a game 100% then the game is useless so there put in achievements and points so u have other stuff to shoot for in the game. I always say it shows how much of a nerd you are lol (I'm working my way up there)



It's all for fun. I personally love getting achievements. It makes you do things in the game that you might not normally do. When other people see your gamer score, they can judge how active of a gamer you are I suppose...

you could spend hours and hours.. days even on a game... and at the end.. theres nothing really to show for it....

Gamer points are "skill" kinda..

nope there worthless it just shows your skill on video games and if you have lots of points u usually have bare games.
no you can't spend them there just there so you can show off
