I'm a gamer but my girlfriend hates this. I like my gf but I love gaming too. What should I do?

I don't want to go back to the girlfriendless gaming life I used to have, but I can't go on without playing games. My girlfriend wants me to spend more time with her but I need my gaming time too. If you see that its a normal balance, and you're devoting lots of time with her, then I suggest finding a new girl who understands you more and isn't a complete control freak. If you see you spend NO time with her, and you really do play 24/7, then I consider straightening your priorities, and balancing out your playing time.



You could also always just get her into playing the video games with you. That way she's spending time with you, and y'all are doing what you love. I don't know, I might just be thinking this will be easy, cause I'm a gamer girl, but. Its always worth a shot.



** And to the guy above me, video games are just another form of entertainment. Like movies or television. Its just another past time. And relationships aren't that important compared to stuff like education, or your career.

If your new forced lifestyle bothers you so much, then look for a girl who likes the whole Modern Warfare 2 thing.



Maybe you can try playing at night, after diner or something?

People are more important than games and you should spend more time with your girlfriend. Your girlfriend should like you for who you are. If you like to play games, then she should respect that. On the flip side (as others have said here), addiction to anything is never good, so i would not encourage gaming marathons instead of hanging out with her.



However, do not let anyone influence you by telling you what you enjoy doing. You're a gamer, you enjoy it, and you should not have to change just because your girlfriend does not like your favorite hobby. If she pesters you too much about it, she is not worth your time.
